Everything old is new again

October 21, 2005

Writing about:

Time for another facelift for the ‘ol website. Some significant changes however, along with the typical annual nip/tuck work…

  • CMS has moved from iBlog (absurdly simple to use, but very limited) to WordPress (every bell and whistle under the sun, lots of neat moving parts for Yours Truly to play around with.
  • Photo hosting has been completely revamped–the kind folks at Flickr will be hosting the actual photos, while the FAlbum plugin will provide a nice little access point through the blog. Click on the Pictures link on the right to see the photo album, then click through into the album or albums you’re interested in. Flickr can do some really nice things, like handle photo downloads, comments, even ordering prints, that I could never do on my own with my limited time. Click through, play around, let me know what you think
  • Sharp look-and-feel eh? Not a bit of it is my doing–WordPress themes are great! And very easy to implement. This month’s flavor is the Flex them; check the bottom of the webpage for author details.

One unpleasant (and hopefully temporary) consequence–all the old site content will have to be brought into the new format. Be patient; this might take awhile, particularly with the photos. If you absolutely have to have something, mail me at web@erichogberg.com and I’ll do my best to dig it up and get it to you.

Hope you like the new me!
